EVO for the US Masterclass
There are some special requirements for the Masterclass to which mentors at US (and other) Institutes ought to pay attention:
- To make sure you can connect succesfully, carefully read the EVO Checklist
- Get on EVO using the EVO User Guide for Masterclass users
- Get the right audio peripherals: here are some recommendations
- For your EVO Test, read parts 1 and 2 of Video Linkup Tests and Instructions
- Really get to know EVO with the EVO Video Tutorial
- Learn how to use The EVO Phone Bridge
Rules of thumb for your EVO videoconference
- Start EVO at least 15 min before the scheduled time to deal with unforseen glitches
- Do a computer restart before you connect
- Processor: faster is better
- RAM: less isn't more, more is more…you should have at least 1 MB and the more the better
- Use an echo-cancelling microphone if possible; if not (sigh), mute your mic when not talking and/or use a headset
